BREED GOLD Mare is a highly concentrated, liquid and natural supplement designed to optimise the reproductive function of broodmares.

It contains a powerful combination of nicotinic acid, omega-3 fatty acids (DHA & EPA), natural vitamin E tocopherols and vitamin A, specifically formulated to improve fertility.

Breeding is a costly undertaking. When conception fails, it often means waiting until the following year to try again.
By supporting the mare’s fertility with the right nutrients and appropriate dietary management, the chances of producing a successful foal are significantly increased.

Nicotinic acid (vitamin B3)

An Australian study demonstrated that high-dose nicotinic acid increases NAD⁺ production (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) in cumulus–oocyte complexes. NAD⁺ is an essential co-enzyme involved in:

• carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism,

• DNA repair,

• regulation of gene expression.

Results:
Reduced meiotic abnormalities (errors during oocyte cell division), fewer chromosomal alignment errors (crucial for correct cell division) and lower early embryonic loss, particularly in older mares.

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA & DHA)

• Scientifically proven to support fertility.

• Exhibit anti-inflammatory effects, in contrast to the more common omega-6 fatty acids.

• Horses cannot synthesise these fatty acids themselves and must obtain them through diet or supplementation.

Research:
Nine test mares received an omega-3-rich supplement for 90 days prior to the expected foaling date.

• Ultrasonographic evaluation of uterus and ovaries on days 3, 7, 11 and 15 post-foaling, and days 4 and 7 after ovulation.

Result:
Consistently smaller uterine horns in supplemented mares, indicating a higher likelihood of successful fertilisation, particularly during foal heat.

Vitamin E (natural tocopherols)

Dosage

Optimal protocol:

• Start 2 months before the breeding season: 20 ml per day.

• From onset of oestrus and presence of a dominant follicle (>25 mm) until the day of ovulation (inclusive): 60 ml per day.

• Thereafter for a further 3 months: 20 ml per day.

Minimal protocol:

• From onset of oestrus and dominant follicle (>25 mm) until the day of ovulation (inclusive): 60 ml per day.
