Inflammation is a response of the body to damage or to stimuli such as an accident, overload, trauma, autoimmune reactions. Boswellia Serrata is a gum-producing tree native to India and Pakistan. Concentrates of these are enriched with Boswellic acids, biologically active pentacyclic triterpenes, the most active of which is AKBA (3-Acetyl-11-Keto-Beta boswellic acid). By regulating the 5-lipoxygenase activity, the joints are supported. (5-lipoxygenase is the enzyme that causes the conversion of arachidonic acid to problematic leukotrienes).

Boswellia is used, among other things, for joint problems. Based on many scientific studies, these concentrates are also used in human medicine with excellent results for joint problems. Willow bark contains salicin; a beta glycoside. Salicin is the precursor of acetylsalicylic acid, whose beneficial properties are known. Salicin is converted to salicylic alcohol in the gut and then to salicylic acid in the liver. Salicylic acid inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins by blocking the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX). Yucca schidigera is a herbaceous plant found in arid desert regions of the Southwestern United States. and Northern Mexico. Yucca Schidigera contains, among other things, high concentrations of steroidal saponins and resveratrol. Yucca Schidigera also has a strong antioxidant effect.

Curcumin in a particularly absorbable form. Curcumin is a very powerful antioxidant with a damage-soothing effect. In joint diseases, studies on humans show particularly beneficial effects without harmful side effects.
