Your horse has no particular problems, but you want to reduce the chances for it in the future?
You are convinced that forage is better than concentrates for your horse and you want to make sure he lacks nothing when you leave the concentrates?
Your horse needs to take medication soon, and you want to help protect its flora against the negative effects of these drugs?
You want to help your horse to healthy aging?
COMBI GOLD and COMBI PLATINUM are balanced liquid complete and natural horse feed supplements for daily use aimed at full support of all horses, including those in competition. The COMBI's are synergistic blends of unique nutritional ingredients not yet available on the market.
COMBI GOLD is a powerful formula and COMBI PLATINUM is even more powerful. COMBI PLATINUM contains 50% more prebiotics and additionally Co-enzyme Q 10.
Only ingredients that have a scientifically proven effect, confirmed by visible results in the daily practice are used.
What are the recommended applications of COMBI GOLD?
. As a daily vitamin / mineral supplement. There is a growing consensus in the scientific community that by far the majority of the horses, including most horses competing at the national level, are optimally fed with a diet of only roughage combined with a good daily vitamin / mineral supplement. COMBI GOLD complies perfectly with the latter requirement.
. To help protect the intestinal flora against harmful external factors. The quality and activity of the intestinal flora is of particular importance for the health and performance of horses. External factors such as transport, stress, change in quality of forage, feeding feed concentrates, can lead to negative changes of the flora. COMBI helps to minimize this.
. To aid in protecting an optimal microbial intestinal flora when giving medication. Many forms of medication bring harm to the composition and functioning of the intestinal flora. This is inter alia the case for antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, painkillers and anesthetics. COMBI GOLD provides a supportive protection against these attacks on the flora. We have cases of horses, which produced almost always very liquid manure and after full conversion to roughage and COMBI GOLD were back to normal in a very short time
. To reduce the risk of colic and its harmful consequences. 4 to 10% of the horses have to deal with colic each year; 10 to 15% of them are recurring cases. So most horses have to deal with colic within their life span. Some attacks can have far-reaching consequences; in older horses colic is the most common cause of death from all diseases. Disruption of the flora is one of the main reasons for colic; COMBI GOLD helps to minimize this.
. In order to counteract the loss of immunity when aging. The major part of the horse's immune system is provided by its intestinal flora. COMBI GOLD contributes to the maintaining of an optimal intestinal flora.
. To counteract degenerative aging. One of the principal changes in aging is the occurrence of chronic inflammation at a relatively low level, which leads to tissue degeneration, the so-called "Inflamm-aging".
This plays a part in the deterioration process in aging, osteoarthritis, heart and lung problems, Cushing and insulin resistance, decreased energy production and utilization and dimished immunity. COMBI GOLD’s ingredients will help to prevent this chronic inflammation. Furthermore, it is so that the larger part of the immune system of the horse is provided by its intestinal flora. COMBI GOLD contributes to the maintenance of an optimal intestinal flora by the present of prebiotics.
. To reduce the severity of the risk of joint problems. 60% of the lameness in horses is caused by osteoarthritis. Chances are that most of the horses will be confronted with this when aging. To reduce this risk or reduce its size, the use of an effective daily supplement such as COMBI GOLD is a smart choice.
. To safeguard the function of the liver. The liver is a particularly important organ; the inadequate functioning of it quickly results in a reduction of performance, weight loss, duller coat and an insufficient effect of food, medication, vitamins or dietary supplements. The changing of seasons, especially autumn and spring, administering medication, stress, special efforts, transportation, .... are all highly stressful for the liver. COMBI GOLD assists the function of the liver.
These are the main ingredients:
Prebiotics. Prebiotics are substances that exert a favorable influence on the flora of the gastro-intestinal tract; because they are a substrate (food) for the good flora and ensure that "bad" flora is kept under control. The microbial flora is often described as the "forgotten" organ. There are more bacteria present in the gastrointestinal tract than cells in the body. It is one of the finest examples of synergy between guest and host, after centuries of evolution. The most important part of the host's immune system is located in this flora. Proper composition and functioning of the flora in one of the most important factors for overall health; This was demonstrated in hundreds of scientific publications. The prebiotics present in COMBI GOLD are a sophisticated mixture of different active substances in order to ensure that the flora is supported on the whole gastro-intestinal tract of the horse.
COMBI GOLD contains a generous amount of prebiotics and COMBI PLATINUM even 50% more!
If you like to know more about prebiotics, read the following page.
A collagen peptide with a very specific molecular weight is also included. Seventy percent of cartilage consists of collagen. Studies with these peptides showed improvement in pain and lameness, mobility, vitality and production of new cartilage. Also, their influence of the chondrocytes is clear. More cartilage is built, and less will be degraded in the natural process.
In people who have taken the ingredient for three months compared to people who took a placebo (a similar product but with no active ingredients) during those three months, the effect of the supplement on the repair of cartilage is very clear
Magnesium sulfate has liver purifying properties and a stimulating effect on bile secretion, resulting in improved digestion. The liver is a particularly important organ; the inadequate functioning of it quickly results in a reduction of the performance, weight loss, duller coat and an insufficient effect of food, medication, vitamins or dietary supplements. The changing of the seasons, especially autumn and spring, administering medication, stress, special efforts .... are all highly stressful for the liver.
L-Methionine (the natural form, not a racemic mixture) is an essential (= can not be synthesized by the horse itself and must be obtained through diet or supplements) amino acid. As sulfur-containing amino acid L-Methionine is essential for protein synthesis and biosynthesis of a whole range of organic compounds such as adrenaline and creatine. In the horse, methionine is also converted to cysteine ??and glutathione, of great interest to the detoxification of the liver. The sulfur-containing amino acid L-Methionine also improves hoof quality.
Easily absorbable vitamins and minerals are also present in COMBI GOLD. In most mineral / vitamin supplements on the market there is a long list of vitamins / minerals. However, the reality is that with a good basic diet of the horse, many of them are already adequately provided so that the extras simply are excreted by the body. Our starting point for COMBI GOLD has been different. We have measured for which ones there is a general and consistent deficit and we only added those in sufficient quantity.
Iron, manganese, selenium and cobalt. Blood analysis, which is usually used to determine the mineral deficiencies in the horse is not the right method to measure these deficiencies. Scientific research shows in fact that for most minerals there is no correlation between the levels in the blood and the content in the cells (where the mineral has to do its job!). A better method is mane analysis. On this basis it was determined that the minerals in deficit for most horses are iron, manganese, selenium and cobalt. And in a significant part of our horses, the values for these minerals are even frighteningly low.
Iron plays an important role in the production of blood. Manganese essential functions occur in the build-up of cartilage and the skeleton structure. Also some enzyme systems, especially trans-oxidases and trans-aminases need Manganese for their functioning. Selenium is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and it acts as an antagonist against toxic heavy metals, by separating them out through the formation of soluble complexes. Selenium is important for the thyroid gland and when values are too low, ? problems also occur in muscles, tendons and ligaments. Cobalt plays a role in the production of red blood cells (oxygen transport), repairing of the myelin of the nervous system and the functioning of the pancreas.
B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12) are a group of water-soluble vitamins that play a role in the production of energy from nutrients and in the cell metabolism. B12 is stored in the liver. When shortages of vitamins B occur, the liver is no longer able to do his job.
Vitamin E (D-alpha tocopherol, the natural form, so no racemic, chemical blend), is an antioxidant. It protects against the harmful effects of free radicals, which damage cells, tissues and organs. Vitamin E also plays a role in the neurologic function, and in the immune system. Deficiencies can cause ataxia, and myopathy. Our experience is that many horses show permanently or during certain periods of the year a shortage of Vitamin E.
MSM has an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. It is also an important organic sulfur compound. Various hormones, enzymes, proteins, the structure and stiffness of cartilage, skin and hair are dependent on the concentration of sulfur in the body. Sulfur is also one of the major mineral components of collagen, present in joints, tendons and ligaments.
COMBI PLATINUM contains on top of that a yeast extract enriched in Co-enzyme Q 10. Q10 does not only supports muscles, tendons and ligaments, but also all other organs.
An interesting side effect is the beneficial effects, which COMBI GOLD exerts on skin and hair.
Dosage: The dose is 25/30 ml / day per 500 kg horse. In the case of a protection against external stress factors or an acute intestinal flora disruptive medication a double dose is preferably taken starting a few days before.
